Traffic needed to support a forum?
An interesting point was raised in a recent discussion on commenting - the level of traffic required for a site to satisfactorily create a forum. The forums which started this line of thought were the superb ones on Steve Pavlina's site, which contain a level of integration with the blog in several areas not always seen in such installations. This integration deepens his contact with the site's readers.
How much traffic should a site have before launching forums?

Scott, you're officially an SOB! Contratulations.
If a blog has good, solid traffic, it seems to me that it constitutes a forum in itself.

Thanks Carolyn.
My current thinking is that a forum is intended to be a two-way process, whilst a blog can be. If the intention is to effectively use the commenting facilities, a bit of effort is required as well as the traffic.
